Norton received her Juris Doctor from Loyola New Orleans College of Law in 2013. At Loyola, Ms. Norton was a Crowe Scholar, a published law review member, and Chairman of the Moot Court Board. She is currently barred in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Norton has two undergraduate degrees from the University of Connecticut, one in Business Administration and one in Spanish.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Norton was a judicial law clerk with the Attorney General's Honors Program. She then practiced immigration law for more than four years with the Department of Homeland Security. Ms. Norton is currently enrolled in the online Master in Library and Information Science program at the University of South Carolina.
After leaving federal service, Ms. Norton focused on teaching and instructional design. She has been teaching the online Immigration Law Practice course for Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement since 2018. She has also taught Family Law with Tulane’s program at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women and Tulane’s legal writing course for paralegals. Ms. Norton has developed and taught paralegal and criminal justice courses for Northshore Technical Community College that include Introduction to Paralegal Studies, Deviance (Criminology), Juvenile Justice, Legal Research and Writing, Civil Litigation, and more.
Ms. Norton is currently an acquisitions editor and instructional designer for Carolina Academic Press (CAP). As an acquisitions editor, she signs new books in legal education for the Press. As an instructional designer for CAP, Ms. Norton assists in curriculum planning, course design, assessment creation, faculty development, and partner relations. Last, but certainly not least, Ms. Norton is the host and editor of the Law School Lounge, a Carolina Academic Press podcast.
Ms. Norton loves all animals, especially her two dogs, Buffy and Boudin, and her cat, Dobby. She is a lifelong Yankees fan who loves a good cup of coffee and art museums.
