Daniel Shin is a Cybersecurity Researcher at William & Mary Law School, the Coastal Node Commonwealth Cyber Initiative Research Scientist, and the Center for Legal & Court Technology’s Associate Director of Research. His research focuses on the intersection of emerging technology and law, including as it pertains to blockchain technology, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence, with keen emphasis on cybersecurity and privacy. Mr. Shin has presented his research on deep fakes technology, cybersecurity, and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the judiciary and the legal profession for judges, court staff, and attorneys. At William & Mary Law School, he teaches a novel introduction to artificial intelligence course that engages law students with the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and other supporting technologies.
